Everyone experiences moments of happiness, whether it comes from someone you love, something that you enjoy, or something else. Happiness is beautiful on everyone, and we should all seek out positive ways to feel immensely happy.
As with any emotion, happiness is temporary — it comes and goes. It is a remarkable feeling, and can do wonderful things for our physical and mental health. When you experience extreme low’s like I do, it feels even more surreal when you feel pure joy. I’m going to share with you 5 things that make me happy, even though there are many, many more.
BEING A MOTHER My greatest joy came to me after hearing a tiny human cry for the first time. Don’t get me wrong, there are definitely moments where I question myself as a mother, and even my sanity at times, too. However, I’ve never felt more like my true self as I do being a mother to the most beautiful, intelligent, adventurous little boy in the world.
MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER Although we’ve only been together for 2 years, I feel as though I’ve known him my entire life. You always hear people talk about marrying their best friend, and you wonder if you will have that. Now, I do have that. He understands me in ways that no one else has ever taken the time to. He’s patient with me, and is there for me when I’m at my lowest. I couldn’t imagine my world without him in it.
MY FAMILY Everybody needs somebody, sometimes. My family is my support system, and we’re closer than most. You hear about families that are “broken,” in the sense that their parents are addicts, in jail, abandoned them, siblings don’t get alone or like each other, move away, whatever the case may be. My family, though, all live somewhat close to each other. We’re roughly an hour drive apart, tops. I couldn’t imagine living in another state and never being able to see them when I wanted to. We understand and relate to each other so much. They are my world.
HOBBIES Makeup, blogging, singing, driving, photography, spending time with those I love, and much more. It brings me so much happiness to do things that I love doing. Having things to do outside of normal life responsibilities feels so nice, and helps uplift your mood. Thank goodness we all have something that we enjoy.
MUSIC No matter what I’m going through, dealing with, or what mood I’m currently in, music is my life. There are songs/genres for every single emotion that your feeling. Honestly, I have so many playlists, and I listen to them at different times based on my mood. If I’m sad, I have an emotional playlist. If I’m angry or depressed, I have a rock/alternative playlist. If I’m feeling happy, bubbly, or lovey, I have a country and romance/love playlist. When I just want to jam out and feel good, I have a faves playlist. Music can speak to me in ways that people can’t, and a lot of the time, it can say how I’m feeling when I’m unable to put it in words myself.
There are many, many more things that make me happy, but I think those are probably some of the top few. What makes you happy in life? Do we share any in common? Let me know in the comments below.
Day 17 coming soon.
