Dear (Future) Danielle,
Today is Tuesday, May 14, 2019. You are 24, almost 25 years old. Aiden is going through a rough patch right now since Papa’s passing, but you’re all doing the best that you can to make it through. You and Austin are getting ready to close on your first home together in Greenville, Texas, and your impatience is getting the best of you. Slow down. It will all be worth it in the end, I promise.
Although life is hard right now, you are stronger than you believe, and you will come out of this even stronger. You always have. Stop doubting yourself, and what you’re capable of. I know that you have the best intentions at heart in everything that you do, but not everyone cares to see that. Do not allow negativity and others to bring you down. Your mental health is so much more important than all of that.
You’ve felt so alone over the last few months, and people you never imagined walking out of your life or treating you like shit, have. I’m so sorry, but in the long-run, you are better off without them. Be your own best friend, and never stop being who you are.
Despite the difficulties facing you right now, I truly hope that you’re happier with yourself, and the people you surround yourself with in the future. More than anything, I hope that you love who you’ve become. You’ve built such a beautiful family with your boys, and I can’t imagine how big your family and heart has grown.
Never give up on your dreams — please tell me you haven’t. I believe in you, and I believe you’re capable of doing whatever you set your mind to. You’re an incredibly intelligent woman, and you push yourself harder than most. The drive within can help you to achieve so much in this life, and I truly hope you’re doing what makes you happy.
I’d like to believe that you and Austin are married, and have a child or two by now. You probably have 3 or 4 dogs at this point, much to Austin’s surprise (even though everyone warned him that you’d have a zoo). You’re in love with your home, and creating a loving environment for your family.
We’ve struggled with our weight, mental health, and acceptance our entire lives. Hopefully you’ve been able to minimize some of that, because I know what a relief that would be for you.
You are a remarkable, caring, determined, out-spoken individual, and you should never change for anyone or anything. We all have flaws, but I hope that you continue to choose to love yourself in spite of them. It makes you who you are, and I cannot wait to see how much you’ve grown in finding yourself over the years.
Until we meet again,
(Past, Younger) Danielle
Day 20 coming soon.
