Welcome back! It’s been almost two weeks since my last blog post, and I apologize for that. So much has been going on in my life lately, but I’m here with updates for you all! My blog challenge will continue where I left off, with a few extra posts scattered throughout.
First and foremost, we closed on our home on May 13th, and moved in as quickly as we could! With that, and working full-time jobs, it took longer than we expected to get everything moved in and unpacked. We’re still not entirely settled in, but it’s coming together more and more everyday. I’m so in love with our new home! Hopefully once everything settles down, I can share our home with you all.
There have been a lot of personal things going on in my life, as well. My father and I are no longer a part of each other’s lives. As much as I love him and wish that we could be, he is not healthy for me in any way right now. Family is such an important, huge aspect of my life, but we have to take care of ourselves. That includes my mental health, and at least for a while, my Dad doesn’t contribute to my life in a positive way.
My boyfriend proposed to me this last Friday, May 24th, and I, of course, said yes! As someone with anxiety, it’s hard for secrets to be kept from me without me digging out the truth, but he did such a wonderful job surprising me. We are beyond ecstatic, and so madly in love with one another. I’m so excited to see what the future has in store for our family as we grow, together.
Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve also done a lot of research on my BPD diagnosis. Although I knew of the common “symptoms,” I wasn’t aware of how deeply this illness affected me in my everyday life. The more that I’ve learned about it, the more struggling it’s been to come to terms with, but I’m trying. One thing I will not do is give up. [There will be more to come on this subject later.]
As things are beginning to settle back to normal, I will be getting back into my blog challenge, as well as working on new content to be released within the next couple of weeks. I hope you’re as excited for them as I am!
There will be a few changes coming, so I figured I’d start mentioning them now. Something I didn’t realize when starting my blog is how overwhelming it all could be, especially when you try to take on so much at once. Not only am I writing, editing, and scheduling my own content, creating the images for my posts, uploading to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and (trying with) Pinterest, it’s all just too much to do on my own while running my personal accounts, as well.
With that said, I will continue to use Twitter (as I do on my personal anyway), I will try to learn more with Pinterest, and I will keep my Facebook page, but I will be shutting down my blog Instagram, and only use my personal. In order to refrain from blowing up the IG feed with blog posts, I will mainly keep that to my other social platforms, or I might just post updates on my story and not my actual feed. I haven’t quite decided on how I will do it, but I do know that by limiting myself to fewer platforms can help me to be more active on them. It will be taken down once I’m able to get everything moved over.
Thank you for your patience during my time away. It’s been a chaotic few weeks, but I’m back and focusing on new content for you guys.
